Get to know how our LMS (Learning Management System) Works

See a quick overview of how we deliver our online courses to avoid 'rookie' e-training errors.

    Video Transcript

If you’ve not taken one of our courses before, here’s some essential information to help you progress smoothly through your course. Note that if you are familiar with how our courses are delivered, you can skip this lesson, but to continue:

    First, let’s consider logging in.

Always log in at https://degrandson.inquisiqlms.com/. Please note that you should always use our LMS. Courses delivered by our LMS (Learning Management System) do not use our website. Courses are not accessible from degrandson.com. If, at anytime, you need help, log in at https://degrandson.inquisiqlms.com/ and use a Support Ticket.

It’s complicated. We are attempting to deliver perfectly responsive lessons every time. The technology is near perfect, but you too can help.

    Availability of Courses

We have designed our courses and the associate to deliver a system so that courses are available to you any place, and at any time, and at any device. That’s a big ask.

    Course Delivery

We have also developed our courses so that you can use any browser and any operating system and that’s enough a big ask.

    Computer Set-Up

You can be sure that you are getting the best service if you make a few checks of your computer setup.

First, there’s the setup of your browser. It’s important that you follow the recommendations here to avoid unnecessary interruption to lesson delivery. Firefox is best. The browser that we recommend for our courses is Firefox. It has been persistently reliable to use in the last three years. Download it at mozilla.org.

Avoid Microsoft Edge as it has a history of compatibility errors that are unpredictable.

Meanwhile, auto Clear Cache. Whatever browser you use, change settings to: Clear the cache when the browser is closed.

Chrome, Safari, and other browsers also work well with our courses.

    Care When Closing Lessons

To avoid losing the record of your progress or of an exam result, Do not use the “X” on the top of the screen to close a lesson or an exam. Always use the onscreen button. And as for the subsequent onscreen instructions, wait a few seconds for your data to be recorded.

    Course Structure

As it can be a little overwhelming, let’s consider the structure of a typical course.

    The Course

Overall duration from 8 to 36 hours depending on standard and grade.

    The Modules

For most courses, there are three modules namely:

    • Auditing Skills
    • Standard Knowledge
    • Practice with Scenarios

Course materials are included with each module

    The Lessons

Modules are divided into lessons of 20 to 40 minutes duration.

With the flexibility of e-Learning, we let the topic dictate the duration of the lesson. The purpose of the quizzes, we find, is often misunderstood. They are exclusively for your information.

Also, we’ve got Frequently Asked Questions.

    Quizzes

There’s a quiz at the end of every lesson. The results are not recorded because the information is intended as feedback to you, providing a measure of how much of the lesson you have successfully absorbed.

If you score badly, you are advised to repeat the lesson. You may repeat a lesson as often as you wish, but you may take the quiz only once.

The objective of the lesson is not to learn the answers to a few questions, but to learn and understand the entire lesson.

    Frequently Asked Questions

As a further aid to learning, most lessons have an FAQ section. If you don’t find your question answered, why not use a support ticket to ask it? We’d love to get to your questions.

    Getting Support

Finally, a few words on the Support Ticket.

Support Ticket buttons can be found on the home pages of www.degrandson.co.uk and https://degrandson.inquisiqlms.com/. You can also find FAQs on the Support Ticket home page. You may well find the answer you need there.

Please note, support is only available via Support Tickets. Emails direct to support@degrandson.co.uk will not get a response. Therefore, all requests for support must be made through the Support Ticket system. This enables us to provide you with a fast and expert support service.

deGRANDSON Global is an ISO Certified Educational Organization

New call-to-actionIn October 2021 we secured certification to three education-related ISO Standards.  We now have a university-grade management system in place conforming to the requirements of  …

    • ISO 21001, Educational Organizational Management System,
    • ISO 29993, Learning Services outside formal Education,  and
    • ISO 29994, Learning Services – additional requirements for Distance Learning.

We have chosen ISO 21001 certification because, unlike IRCA and Exemplar badges (which in our opinion are commercially compromised), it is based on independent third-party assessment.  It is a ‘university grade’ standard in use globally by schools, colleges, and universities to demonstrate their competence.
